(Dan Tri Newspaper) - A four-car pile-up caused a traffic jam on the Mai Son - National Highway 45 expressway in Thanh Hoa province on the afternoon of the 5th day of Tet (Lunar New Year).

At approximately 3 PM on February 2nd (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), a prolonged traffic jam occurred on the Mai Son - National Highway 45 expressway, heading from Thanh Hoa to Hanoi , with many cars inching forward.

According to some drivers, the traffic jam lasted for more than an hour and occurred in Thieu Quang commune, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province.

According to information from Highway Traffic Control Team No. 3, Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ), the cause of the traffic congestion was a chain collision involving four passenger cars.

Upon receiving the information, the officers of Highway Traffic Control Team No. 3 arrived at the scene, diverted traffic, and directed vehicles to take the exit onto National Highway 1A.

Authorities also deployed a tow truck to handle the scene.

By approximately 4:20 PM, the traffic congestion on the route had been resolved, and traffic returned to normal.
