“5 Together” - Journey of Sustainable Development

At the 2025 BRICS Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made a strong impression with the spirit of “5 Togethers” - going together, arriving together, doing together, winning together, and enjoying together - as a guideline for sustainable, inclusive, and fair international cooperation.

“Going together” demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and cohesion among countries, regardless of differences in size, level of development or political regime. In today’s multipolar and challenging world, no country can effectively respond on its own. “Going together” is an affirmation of the importance of strategic companionship, sharing the same vision for a fairer and more inclusive international order.

“Together” is a commitment to work together towards great values: Peace , sustainable development, improving the quality of life of humanity. Vietnam believes that international cooperation is only meaningful when all countries make progress.

“Doing it together” is a powerful message that emphasizes concrete actions, rather than just words and commitments; calling on countries to transform their thinking and commitments into real actions. Only by acting together can the world address global challenges.

“Win-win” is not a win-lose competition, but a victory of cooperation, mutual benefit, where all parties succeed. This is the foreign policy principle that Vietnam pursues: Win-win for both sides - all parties win. Vietnam calls for and wishes to build an international community where every victory is a collective achievement, not the result of imposition or exclusion.

“Shared enjoyment” is aimed at fairness, inclusiveness, and leaving no one behind; it is a requirement for fair sharing of the fruits of cooperation. There can be no sustainable development if only a few countries benefit while the majority of the world lags behind. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that it is necessary to ensure that all people and all countries have the opportunity to access achievements in science, technology, finance, markets, etc. in the spirit of “for the people, taking the people as the center, subject, goal and driving force of development”.
