When mentioning Vinh Phuc specialties, we cannot fail to mention the famous fish dish (also known as sour salted fish) of Lap Thach district, which has been associated with many generations of people here. Beef with ant bites
Raw beef with ants is a dish that not only has a strange name but also impresses with its elaborate preparation process and only when coming to Tam Dao (Vinh Phuc), visitors have the opportunity to enjoy it.
Freshly slaughtered cows, the meat still hot, will be cut into pieces and hung right next to ant nests on forest trees. People will poke the ants in the nest to burst out, covering the meat. To ensure hygiene, the locals only choose ant nests on trees.
After the ant bites, the beef is washed in diluted salt water, drained, then placed on a grill and grilled over glowing charcoal until the meat is rare, sizzling, and fragrant, then it can be enjoyed.

Lung Ngoai Cake
Banh ngoa is a long-standing specialty of the people of Lung Ngoai village, Lung Hoa commune, Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Phuc province. This cake has also been recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization (Vietkings) and Top Vietnam Organization (VietTop) as one of the Top 100 specialty dishes and Top 100 unique gift specialties (2020 - 2021) nationwide.
Ngoa cake is made from main ingredients including green beans, molasses, sticky rice, roasted peanuts and often appears during holidays, Tet or important events of Lung Hoa commune people such as longevity celebrations, village parties, etc.
