Below are 5 "culprits" that cause dizziness, patients need to be vigilant

Due to sunstroke

In a high temperature environment, if you experience symptoms such as chest tightness, dizziness, nausea, etc., you need to be careful because these are pre-heatstroke symptoms. Once you experience symptoms such as excessive sweating, thirst, exhaustion, dizziness, lightheadedness, decreased concentration, etc., you should quickly apply a little cooling oil or balm on your forehead to reduce the discomfort in your body.

Due to low blood pressure

Postprandial hypotension affects many older adults. Low blood pressure stiffens the arteries, making it difficult for them to contract and relax as needed. This occurs when the intestines and stomach need extra blood to digest, causing blood flow to be reduced to other parts of the body. This sudden drop can cause dizziness, fainting, chest pain, blurred vision, and nausea.

In addition, hypoglycemia can also cause dizziness. However, this often occurs in diabetic patients, because this group of people often has low blood sugar, while normal people mostly do not have this condition.

Due to cervical spondylosis

Cervical spondylosis can also cause dizziness. In other words, a very obvious symptom of cervical spondylosis is dizziness, especially when changing positions. People with this disease may feel dizzy or even faint if they suddenly turn their head.

Due to anemia

Many women, in order to stay in shape during the summer, reduce their daily food intake, leading to insufficient nutrients for the body. Furthermore, women lose a certain amount of blood during each menstrual cycle, which can easily lead to anemia, causing symptoms such as dizziness, lack of strength, fatigue, etc.

In this case, we need to supplement foods rich in iron such as celery, spinach, wood ear, soybeans, tofu, pork liver, chicken liver, fish... If the intestines absorb iron poorly causing anemia, women should treat intestinal diseases before supplementing these foods.

Beware of the risk of cerebral infarction

Hot weather makes the body sweat more, the amount of water in the body also loses more. Normally, the amount of water in the body of the elderly is often less than that of young people, plus the slow physiological response leads to the phenomenon of blood accumulation in the body, increasing the risk of infarction causing stroke in the elderly.

When you feel dizzy, the first thing you need to do is not move your head, especially do not try to walk, stand or drive. It is best to sit or lie down to rest, avoid losing balance causing you to fall and injure yourself.

Note, the resting environment should be really cool, quiet, and the light can be reduced to the maximum level to feel more comfortable. You can also use some non-prescription dizziness medications to be more comfortable.

In cases of dizziness lasting more than 30 minutes in the elderly over 60 years old with risk factors for stroke such as: High blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease... Healthy people with dizziness accompanied by severe headache, fever, continuous vomiting, limb weakness or facial paralysis, chest pain... should be hospitalized as soon as possible.
