The conference took place over 5 days, including 8 presentation and discussion sessions with 43 reports revolving around the topics: star formation and stellar feedback; new observational devices; protostars and planet formation; solar systems, exoplanets and evolved stars; supermassive black holes and galaxy evolution...

According to Associate Professor Dr. Pham Ngoc Diep (Vietnam Space Center), the two main topics discussed are: star formation and cosmic dust physics. The general goal of the conference is to search for and explore the latest and most optimal observation and discovery results in order to open up common breakthrough research directions for the astrophysics research community.

The leaders of the ICISE Center said that the SAGI 2025 conference will also create opportunities for Vietnamese astrophysics scientists to exchange and interact with international colleagues to find new research and cooperation directions.

Advancing the future of astrophysics in Vietnam

Notably, the workshop was coordinated and implemented by the Simons Astrophysics Group (SAGI) of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in Astrophysics (IFIRSE – ICISE). The group was founded in 2022 by three Vietnamese scientists: Dr. Nguyen Trong Hien (NASA, USA), Professor Hoang Chi Thiem (Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute – KASI) and Dr. Nguyen Luong Quang (American University, France).
