6,175 people received unemployment benefits in April, a sharp increase compared to the previous month

The Hanoi Employment Service Center has just informed about the situation of workers receiving unemployment benefits in April 2025 in the area. Accordingly, the number of people who have decided to receive benefits unemployment increased significantly compared to previous months.

In April 2025, the Hanoi Employment Service Center (Center) received 7,297 applications for unemployment insurance (UI), an increase of 2,300 cases compared to the previous month and an increase of 816 cases compared to the same period last year.

Appraisal and decision on unemployment benefits for 6,175 cases, an increase of 1,740 cases compared to the previous month and an increase of 727 cases compared to the same period in 2024 with a total support amount of 223.6 billion VND.

Of which, from March 22 to April 21, 2025, there were 5,013 applications for unemployment benefits submitted through the National Public Service Portal, with 3,693 applications eligible for consideration and settlement.

The center has provided consultation and job search support for over 3,600 workers and vocational training support for 93 people with a total amount of 359.2 million VND.

With its outstanding advantages, the unemployment insurance policy has become an important support, actively supporting workers in difficult times, contributing to ensuring social security for workers through financial support measures, job referrals for unemployed workers and training support, improving skills. Thereby, helping workers return to the market soon.

However, the Center said that the number of workers receiving unemployment benefits in April increased sharply, reflecting the fact that a segment of workers still face difficulties in reintegrating into the labor market.
