(BL-NQ) On the morning of April 21st, at the T78 Guest House Hall (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Party, in coordination with the Central Party Office and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, organized a meeting between Party and State leaders and exemplary veteran revolutionary cadres, meritorious individuals, and policy beneficiary families in the Southern region. Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, chaired the meeting. Also co-chairing the meeting were members of the Politburo and Secretaries of the Central Committee: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; and Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Following the welcoming cultural performance, the gathering was deeply moving with stories from veteran revolutionaries and former prisoners of Con Dao Island, who reminisced about their heroic battles and sacrifices, and shared poignant moments remembering their brave comrades who laid down their lives for the peace of the country.
On the Bac Lieu province side, the Provincial Party Committee selected 6 delegates to participate in this event, including: Mr. Phan Thanh Lap - Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Colonel, former Head of the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Public Security; Ms. Vo Thi Xuan - Hero of the People's Armed Forces, disabled veteran (category 4/4), wife of a fallen soldier, a person who directly participated in the resistance war and was exposed to chemical toxins, and was captured and imprisoned by the enemy; Mr. Nguyen Trung Chanh - Chairman of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Bac Lieu City, a person who directly participated in the resistance war and was exposed to chemical toxins; Ms. Ngo Thu Ha - Member of Team C39 Nguyen Viet Khai, former Chairman of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Bac Lieu City; Mr. Nguyen Van Ngan - disabled veteran (category 1/4) in Chau Thoi commune (Vinh Loi district); and Mr. Ta Minh Phu - disabled veteran (category 4/4), a person who directly participated in the resistance war and was exposed to chemical toxins, former Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Lieu.
The meeting took place in a solemn, warm, and comradely atmosphere, deeply expressing the gratitude of the Party and State for the immense contributions and sacrifices of previous generations. This was not only an opportunity to recall the glorious traditions and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of veteran officials and their families, but also a chance for Party and State leaders to inform about the country's major orientations, strengthen confidence and consensus throughout society, especially regarding the important policy of reorganizing provincial-level administrative units in the South, aiming towards building a stronger and more civilized nation.
