851 Hanoi students bowed to thank their parents at the honor ceremony

On the morning of May 23, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a ceremony to honor and reward outstanding students in the capital. The list includes 851 students who have achieved high results in cultural, scientific and technical competitions at the national, regional and international levels, along with examples of overcoming difficulties to study well and contribute to the community and society.

Among them are prominent faces such as Nguyen Duc Thai and Do Ha Phuong - students of Viet Duc High School - who won second prize at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2025) in the United States and first prize at the National Science and Engineering Fair;

Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Anh - student of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted - won a Bronze Medal at the 2025 Asian Physics Olympiad and won first prize nationally in physics; Dang Mai Khanh - student of Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted - won first prize nationally in biology...

After the speech praising the outstanding students, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong asked 851 students to bow their heads and clap their hands to show gratitude to their parents.

"In every step of your growth, there is always the silent sacrifice of your parents and relatives. They are the ones who are always by your side, caring for you,educating you , and giving you boundless love so that you can achieve the results you have today.

"Please share today's glory with your parents and loved ones," said Mr. Tran The Cuong.

Hanoi is the locality with the largest educational scale in the country with nearly 2.3 million students and more than 140,000 teachers. The whole city has 2,913 kindergartens, general schools, 29 vocational education - continuing education centers, 355 vocational education establishments, the rate of public schools meeting national standards is nearly 80%.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Hanoi will turn Chu Van An High School and Son Tay High School into specialized schools, bringing the total number of specialized schools under the Department of Education and Training to 4.

The city's spearhead education has proven effective when Hanoi students have led the country for many consecutive years in national and international excellent student competitions.

In this school year alone, Hanoi has 18 students winning international prizes; 200 students winning national excellent student prizes; 16 students and 6 projects winning prizes in the national science and technology research competition; 50 students winning prizes in the Student Startup Ideas 2025 competition...
