Camping overnight amidst the dreamlike plum orchards in Moc Chau.

Camping and building bonfires all night amidst blooming white plum orchards, or enjoying a variety of delicious specialties from the Moc Chau plateau such as free-range chicken and wild vegetables, will leave diners amazed and delighted.
Located about 200km from the center of Hanoi and a 4-hour drive by car, Moc Chau has long been one of the most popular tourist destinations in Northern Vietnam, especially during the plum blossom season at the beginning of the year (Photo: Nguyen Son).
Visiting Moc Chau during the plum blossom season, tourists can not only freely explore and take photos for social media but also experience overnight camping, enjoying relaxing moments under the ancient plum trees with their wide-spreading canopies displaying their vibrant colors (Photo: Tran Anh).
Ms. Tran Hien Phuong's family (from Hanoi ) have been camping in many places before, but this time they decided to "change things up" and chose Moc Chau as their post-Tet camping destination. They chose to camp in a plum orchard in Na Ka valley, more than 10km from the center of Moc Chau (Photo: Hien Phuong). "Our family decided to camp here because the plum blossoms around this garden are in their most beautiful bloom. Also, we have children, so we're very concerned about the safety and security of everyone. I want my children to fully enjoy the feeling of being immersed in nature, preserving precious childhood memories close to plants and trees," said Ms. Phuong (Photo: Hien Phuong). During their two-night camping trip in the plum orchard, Ms. Phuong and her family enjoyed participating in the campfire activity. The orchard owner provided firewood for guests to enjoy, as well as pots, plates, and utensils if needed. Visitors could also order some typical Moc Chau dishes such as wild vegetables, free-range chicken, grilled fish, etc., and have them served right at their tent (Photo: Hien Phuong). Ms. Phuong also revealed that a drawback of camping in the plum orchard is that the restrooms are quite far from the tents. Not to mention the weather is very cold at night, so visitors need to prepare plenty of blankets, warm mattresses, and insulation mats, etc. (Photo: Hien Phuong). A female tourist from Hanoi expressed that the plum blossom season is usually very short, so camping in a plum orchard and having a bonfire overnight is a very special experience for herself and her family members (Photo: Hien Phuong). "After the Lunar New Year holiday, with all the traveling, the need for rest before starting work is essential. Camping in a beautiful flower garden, just like abroad, in the cool 2-3°C weather was a very special experience for my family. Adults had their own space, children got to exercise and explore nature, and no longer cared about technological devices like phones and TVs," she shared (Photo: Hien Phuong). According to Mr. Nguyen Son, the owner of a 1-hectare orchard with 500 ancient plum trees in the Na Ka valley, he receives an average of 50 visitors per week, mainly families with young children who come to experience camping on weekends (Photo: Ha Phuong Lan). The plum orchard has tents, electricity, water, and restrooms available for rent at 250,000 VND per tent per day. In addition, the owner also serves traditional dishes such as grilled chicken, boiled mustard greens, and rice or sticky rice upon request (Photo: Hung Minh Pham). Besides checking in at the vibrant plum blossom gardens and camping overnight, tourists visiting Moc Chau in the early days of the year also have the opportunity to pick strawberries, enjoy sweet ripe strawberries at Moc Chau farms, visit dairy farms, or experience the Bach Long glass bridge, etc. (Photo: Nong Tu).
From Hanoi, to get to Moc Chau, tourists can drive their own car, take a coach bus, or a limousine bus departing from My Dinh bus station with ticket prices around 160,000 - 200,000 VND per person per way, or book a sleeper bus like Bac Son or Hai Van if traveling overnight. Upon arrival, visitors can rent a taxi or motorbike to freely explore and experience the unique destinations.
Tourists planning a camping trip to Moc Chau during this time should monitor the weather forecast and bring all necessary supplies, as nighttime temperatures can drop very low.
