97 people needed medical assistance while visiting Buddha's relics in Hanoi

(Dan Tri) - According to statistics from the health sector, by the morning of May 16, medical teams had provided medical support to 97 people, with no serious cases, mainly hypoglycemia and heatstroke.

To ensure medical work for the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment ( Ministry of Health ) has directed the Hanoi Department of Health to develop, deploy, inspect and supervise the implementation of a plan to ensure medical work in the locality. This includes the locations where the Festival's activities take place and the accommodation of delegates and guests.

Medical work must ensure disease prevention, environmental sanitation, food hygiene and safety, emergency medical examination and treatment, etc.

In Hanoi , from May 13-16, the Buddha's relics will be carried to Quan Su Pagoda. The procession will pass through the streets and central areas of Hoan Kiem District such as Ly Thuong Kiet - Hang Bai - Hoan Kiem Lake - Ly Thai To - Hai Ba Trung...

Therefore, to meet medical needs and ensure the health of people coming to worship and pay homage, the Hanoi Department of Health has strictly implemented emergency response for the Sakyamuni Buddha Relic Procession according to the route with 7 fixed emergency teams and 3 ambulances (Hanoi Heart Hospital, 115 Emergency Center, Hoan Kiem Medical Center).

In addition, the Hanoi Department of Health has strengthened food safety inspections in and around the event area; arranged staff to inspect and supervise food safety for food used in the event.

At the same time, the organization supervises the 3-step food inspection (before importing raw materials and food, before processing and before eating), and guides the implementation of food sample storage for meals served to the organizing committee. The number of meals is about 600 meals/day.
