AFC congratulates U23 Vietnam and thanks Vietnam for successfully organizing the U23 Asian Qualifiers

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has just sent a letter of congratulations to the Vietnam U23 team after winning the right to participate in the 2026 AFC U23 Finals, and at the same time acknowledged and thanked the effective coordination of the Vietnam Football Federation and the host locality of Phu Tho.

On September 11, AFC officially sent a letter of congratulations to the Vietnam U23 team after they successfully won first place in Group C at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers, thereby winning a ticket to the Final Round to take place in Saudi Arabia in January 2026.

In the letter, AFC highly appreciated the resilient and dedicated fighting spirit of the Vietnamese players throughout the qualifying journey, affirming that the all-win achievement is proof of the serious preparation and mettle of an ambitious team.

In addition to congratulating the team, AFC also sent thanks to the Vietnam Football Federation and the Phu Tho Provincial Organizing Committee for successfully organizing the Group C matches at Viet Tri Stadium from September 3 to 9, 2025.

AFC acknowledged the spirit of close cooperation, dedication and professionalism in the organization, contributing to creating a safe and thoughtful tournament, leaving a good impression on the participating teams, AFC officials and a large number of fans.

In the letter, AFC affirmed its desire to continue accompanying Vietnamese football, and expressed its hope to welcome U23 Vietnam at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Finals with impressive performances, contributing to raising the position of regional football in the continental arena.

In the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers - Group C, Vietnam U23 defeated Bangladesh U23 (2-0), Singapore U23 (1-0) and Yemen U23 (1-0), winning 9 absolute points, scoring 4 goals and not conceding any.

This achievement not only helps the team qualify for the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Finals but also extends the streak of six consecutive appearances at the continental playground, a milestone affirming the stable position of U23 Vietnam in the region and Asia.

Coach Kim Sang Sik affirmed that the U23 Vietnam team will try their best to prepare for the Final Round with strong opponents in Asia.
