Decisions about how to use and adapt AI will play a crucial role in shaping the future. That is also why Vietnam has chosen "Small-Scale AI Applications" as the theme for the 2nd Vietnam International Digital Week.
This information was shared at the Ministerial Roundtable Conference - Vietnam International Digital Week 2, held in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh province on the morning of December 12th. The special program focused on discussing "Development and application of narrow artificial intelligence in the digital economy ".

This refers to specialized and focused AI, designed and trained to solve specific tasks or a narrow group of tasks, with high efficiency within a predetermined scope. Narrow-Scale AI is now ready for widespread application.
Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung speaks at the Ministerial Roundtable Conference - 2nd Vietnam International Digital Week.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that the AI revolution requires governments to develop AI infrastructure, an AI workforce, and establish a legal framework for AI. The AI revolution offers opportunities for all countries, especially those that adapt quickly, are ready for change, and embrace change.
“ In the era of the AI revolution, the future is not a continuation of the past. Developing countries, if they seize the opportunity and effectively utilize the benefits of AI, have the potential for breakthrough development and can catch up with developed countries. The AI revolution also requires us to strengthen cooperation to maximize advantages and minimize risks. The AI revolution is also a long journey, a very long journey, so we need to walk together .”
“ In today’s world, with its volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, we need trust. More trust. Let’s trust people. Let’s trust each other. And let’s trust new technologies, like AI, ” the Minister affirmed.
In this context, Vietnam will continue to strengthen international cooperation on digital technology and the digital economy, especially in AI programs.
