Al-Khelaifi mocks Mbappe: 'Scoring in La Liga is easier than Ligue 1'

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has just made a remarkable statement in an interview with Al Kass sports channel (Qatar), indirectly refuting the doubts surrounding whether a team from Ligue 1 can win the Champions League.

PSG President Al-Khelaifi just made a sarcastic move towards Mbappe.

And that message seems to be aimed directly at Kylian Mbappe - who left PSG to seek a title in La Liga.

“It’s easier to score goals in La Liga than Ligue 1,” said Al-Khelaifi. “Luis Enrique represented Ligue 1 with pride, refuting those who called it a ‘peasant league’. And we beat Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Aston Villa to win the Champions League.”

PSG have just ended the greatest season in their history with their first European championship after a 5-0 victory over Inter Milan. President Al-Khelaifi could not hide his pride: “Luis Enrique told me before the match against Arsenal that PSG would win the championship. And he was right. Every goal in the final made me crazy with happiness. This is a victory for both Qatar and France.”

For Al-Khelaifi, the Spaniard is the key to this resounding success: “He is the best coach in terms of developing players. He genuinely cares about his players – and that makes the difference.”

No longer chasing the names "Galacticos", PSG this season chose a new direction: youthful, energetic, cohesive. "No one believed we would win the championship. But step by step, each match - especially at Anfield - ignited confidence. After the final, in just 3 hours, we earned 5 million euros from shirt sales," Al-Khelaifi revealed.

In addition to his achievements on the pitch, the PSG President also did not forget to praise Ousmane Dembele - who he believes deserves to win the Golden Ball. "Not only because of his technical talent, but also because of his personality. Dembele has always been loyal to his values, dedicated both on and off the pitch," said the PSG President.

At the end of the conversation, Mr. Al-Khelaifi confirmed that PSG is developing sustainably both financially and in terms of facilities: “An American investment fund has just bought 10% of the club's shares - this proves that we are on the right track. The new training center is being completed, and all future contracts will need the approval of Luis Enrique. The partnership with Nike and Jordan Brand has helped PSG expand its global influence.”

From star team to champion team , PSG is now not only a sports icon of Qatar, but also the pride of France on the world football map.
