Amazon Launches AI Chatbot for Businesses

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên30/11/2023

AWS CEO Adam Selipsky said there are many useful AI chatbots on the market, but they don't work well in the workplace. According to The Verge , Amazon Q will be a personal AI assistant that will help employees perform tasks such as answering questions about company policies, summarizing and filtering data. Q is expected to compete with rivals such as Copilot, Google's Duet AI, and ChatGPT Enterprise.

Users will be able to talk to Q in their communications or text editing apps, and the chatbot will also appear in AWS’s online management console, Selipsky said. The service will be able to connect to more than 40 enterprise systems, so people can discuss information stored in Microsoft 365, Dropbox, Salesforce, Zendesk, and S3.

Amazon employees reveal the chatbot is named after a James Bond character, as well as the Star Trek character Q.

Additionally, Selipsky stressed that data on Amazon Q will not be used to train any underlying models. Amazon Q can recognize the security parameters that businesses have set for employees, so people without access permission cannot use Q to retrieve data at all.

A preview version of Q is available now, and some of the chatbot’s features are free. After the preview period ends, a business subscription will cost $20 per month per person. A version with additional features for developers and IT staff will cost $25. Meanwhile, Copilot for Microsoft 365 and Duet AI for Google Workspace will cost $30 for business customers.

Over the years, Amazon has launched many new applications, such as supply chain management tools, email, encrypted messaging, video calling, customer service, and marketing. However, none of these products have been huge successes, with the majority of AWS's revenue coming from storage and computing services.
