The SHe-Box portal acts as a data storage center connecting with the Internal Affairs Committees (ICs) and Local Committees (LCs) established nationwide, covering both the public and private sectors.
It is an online platform that allows for filing of complaints, tracking of status and ensuring timely resolution of complaints, as well as real-time monitoring of complaints. The portal also promises to resolve complaints and provide a streamlined process for stakeholders.
As we look ahead to the country’s centenary, New Delhi is actively promoting women’s leadership and recognizing the important contribution of women leaders in promoting inclusive economic growth.
The initiative aims to increase women’s participation in the workforce, ensure safe and secure work environments, and help Indian women advance in their careers. The Prevention, Control and Redress of Sexual Harassment against Women at Work Act, 2013, provides protection against sexual harassment at the workplace and also provides for redressal of complaints.
In addition to the SHe-Box portal, the Ministry of Women and Child Development launched a new website to build India's identity on digital platforms, enhancing the government 's engagement with its citizens domestically and internationally.
Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi said the initiative is a significant step towards providing an effective and safe platform for redressal of complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace.
At the same time, the portal demonstrates New Delhi’s commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive work environment for Indian women. Annpurna believes that SHe-Box will safely resolve citizen complaints without revealing the sender’s personal information.
