Author Giai Du won first prize at the first Kim Dong Literature Award.
The creative campaign for children in the period of 2023 - 2025 attracted 612 works of many genres from 55 provinces and cities nationwide and some authors from abroad. The participating writers were aged from 9 to 93 years old, showing the wide appeal and strong vitality of children's literature in the community.
Over the past two years, more than 40 outstanding works have been published and received positive reception from readers. The organizing committee has selected 11 best works from more than 600 entries. The first prize winner belongs to Giai Du, with the manuscript of the long story “What to do when the wind blows”.
Author Giai Du, born in 2001, is from Chau Phu district, An Giang province. He graduated from the Department of Literature at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and is currently studying for a master's degree in Literary Theory at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University). Before winning this award, Giai Du had many published works, such as: Chieu chieu qua noi voi kiet (Kim Dong Publishing House, 2023), Kien troi (Linh Lan Books and Hoi Nha van Publishing House, 2024) and Lan Tinh (Kim Dong Publishing House, 2025)...
