The first direct flight from Minsk city (Belarus) carrying more than 280 passengers landed at Phu Quoc international airport at 10:40 am.
After the welcoming ceremony of Belarusian Airlines flight, the crew and visitors were warmly welcomed by local authorities; wreaths and souvenirs showed the hospitality of Phu Quoc special zone.
According to the plan, the Minsk-Phu Quoc route will be operated periodically with a frequency of 10 flights per day, using modern wide-body A330-200 aircraft with a capacity of up to 300 passengers per flight.
Speaking at the ceremony to welcome the flight of Belarusian Airlines and launch the Minsk-Phu Quoc route, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of An Giang province, said that the launch of the route has profound significance as Phu Quoc will be the host of the Asia -Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum in 2027 (APEC 2027).
International routes such as Minsk-Phu Quoc not only connect trade, but also create positive momentum to help Phu Quoc affirm its position as a "safe-friendly" destination, deeply integrated, worthy of being "the island of cooperation and sustainable development".

In addition, according to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, the launch of the Minsk-Phu Quoc route also opens up new cooperation opportunities, shortening the distance between Southeast Asia and Central-Eastern Europe.
Belarusian tourists, businesses and investors come closer to Vietnam. At the same time, this is also a symbol of effective cooperation, spreading the image of the country and people of Vietnam as friendly, dynamic and hospitable.
In the first 9 months of 2025, Phu Quoc special economic zone welcomed 6.5 million visitors, including 1.2 million international visitors, with total revenue of about 31,000 billion VND. Of which, Belarusian tourists to An Giang province (mainly Phu Quoc) reached 1,900.
