(Dan Tri Newspaper) - American tennis legend Andre Agassi appeared in Ho Chi Minh City this afternoon (March 26), but this time he came in the role of a pickleball player.
Andre Agassi is one of the greatest tennis players in history. During his illustrious career, the American athlete won a total of eight Grand Slam titles (four Australian Open titles, one Roland Garros, one Wimbledon, and two US Open titles).

Furthermore, Agassi won the gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics (USA). This means that long before Novak Djokovic (from Serbia) dominated all the most prestigious titles in tennis, Andre Agassi had everything a tennis player could dream of.
In recent years, Agassi switched to playing pickleball. This afternoon (March 26th), the American tennis legend appeared in Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the "2025 Pickleball Legends Tour" (a pickleball tournament for legends).
Speaking to the Vietnamese media, Andre Agassi shared: "I know that the level of enthusiasm for pickleball among Vietnamese people is enormous. Your potential in this sport is also immense."

"During my peak tennis career, I've traveled to many places and countries. However, this is my first time in Vietnam. I regret not being able to come to Vietnam sooner," the 54-year-old athlete said.
As a tennis player who later switched to pickleball, Andre Agassi noted that the two sports have similarities and differences. He shared his secret to success in any sport: "To improve in a sport, you need to care deeply about it, train, and compete wherever you can."
"For Pickleball to develop, we need to create more quality courts where people can practice, develop their abilities, and exchange skills. These courts will also help people meet more experienced players, allowing them to share knowledge with each other."

"I am very happy to be in Vietnam to share my experience and exchange techniques, so that people can better understand this sport in Vietnam," Andre Agassi emphasized.
Joining Agassi on this tour is world number one pickleball player Ben Joins. Joins shared: "I started playing pickleball in 2016. I'm very impressed that more and more people are taking up this sport around the world."
"Vietnam is one of the countries with a large number of people participating in Pickleball. I hope this sport will develop further here," Ben Joins added.
