Three Vietnamese female tennis players will participate in the PPA Macao Open 2026.

Ly Hoang Nam and Truong Vinh Hien stayed home, while only three Vietnamese players traveled to Macau to compete in the women's professional category from May 28 to 31.

The PPA Pickleball Macao Open 2026, which opened on May 28th, has the lowest number of Vietnamese athletes among all PPA Asia Tour events. Only 3 professional female players are participating.

The winners are Sophia Phuong Anh (ranked 53rd in PPA women), Sophia Huynh and Ho Thi Truc Tam (ranked 70th in PPA women's singles). They competed in three events: women's singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

Specifically in the women's singles event, Sophia Phuong Anh is the 4th seed among the 12 players in the main draw. Ho Tam advanced to the main draw, while Sophia Huynh had to compete from the qualifying rounds.

In the women's doubles event, Sophia and her partner will be seeded number 4. Meanwhile, Ho Tam will team up with Mihae in the main draw without needing to compete from the preliminary rounds.

Both female players registered for the mixed doubles event and partnered with foreign teammates, as there were no Vietnamese male players participating in this tournament.

This is perhaps a rare occurrence since the PPA Asia Tour began in Asia. The men's singles event has always been a gold mine for Vietnam, with players like Trinh Linh Giang, Phuc Huynh, and Ly Hoang Nam...

The absence of several top Vietnamese players in the men's doubles event will somewhat diminish the tournament's appeal compared to previous editions. However, it presents an opportunity for other players to accumulate points.

The prize money at the PPA Open tournaments is $2,000 for the singles champion, $5,500 for the doubles champion, and 500 ranking points.

Three Vietnamese female pickleball players will participate in the Macao Open.

The PPA Macao Open 2026 has 612 registered players, both professional and amateur. The tournament will take place from May 28th to May 31st at Building D, Venetian Macao, and will be broadcast live onFPT Play.
