Closing Ceremony of the Ham Thang Ward Sports Festival

On the afternoon of May 29th, the People's Committee of Ham Thang Ward held the closing ceremony of the first Ham Thang Ward Sports Festival, 2026.

Taking place from May 9th to 29th, the first Ham Thang Ward Sports Festival brought together nearly 500 athletes divided into 11 groups from 19 neighborhoods, along with officials, civil servants, union members, and association members in the ward.

At the Games, athletes competed in six sports: 7-a-side men's football, badminton, chess, tug-of-war, sack race, and pickeball, in both individual and team events.

The athletes are competing in the game of Chinese chess.

Competing in badminton

Following exciting and dramatic competitions among athletes in various sports, the Organizing Committee of the Games awarded 52 sets of medals, including 16 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 20 bronze medals, to individuals and teams who achieved outstanding results at the Games; and also awarded 6 consolation prizes to participating units.

Ms. Vo Thanh Binh, Vice Chairperson of the Ward People's Committee and Head of the Ward Sports Festival Organizing Committee, presented awards to the athletes who achieved outstanding results in badminton.

In the overall standings, Cluster 2, comprising Wards 3 and 4, excellently won first place overall. Second place went to Cluster 9, which includes the Party Committee's advisory and support agencies; political and social organizations; armed forces; and agencies and units under the Ward People's Committee. Cluster 8, comprising Phu An, Phu Xuan, and Phu My wards, won third place overall.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of the ward, presented awards to the outstanding athletes.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, presented awards to the athletes.

Mr. Doan Nguyen Xuan Hoang, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of the ward, presented awards to the outstanding football athletes.
