[Photo] Liberation of Truong Sa archipelago - A strategic feat in liberating the South and unifying the country

After the victory of the Central Highlands campaign and the Hue-Da Nang campaign, on April 4, 1975, the Central Military Commission assigned Zone 5 and the naval force to attack and liberate the islands of the Truong Sa archipelago. From April 14 to 29, 1975, all the islands were liberated. The victory of liberating the Truong Sa archipelago had great significance, affirming the Party's strategic thinking and vision on territorial integrity, laying the foundation for the cause of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. 50 years after liberation, Truong Sa has become increasingly strong in defense, good in lifestyle, beautiful in landscape, and exemplary in military-civilian solidarity at the forefront.
