King Charles III was born on November 14, 1948, and was crowned Crown Prince in 1952. He is the first child of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the late Prince Philip.

Now 74, he is also the oldest king to ascend the throne in a royal line that dates back 1,000 years.

King Charles III succeeded his famous mother when she died last September, after 70 years on the throne of Britain.
