On August 22, 2025, Hanoi - Viettel High Technology Industry Corporation (Viettel High Tech) officially launched the first augmented reality (AR) technology experience associated with the real world at the Vietnam Revolution Museum on the 2nd floor and the thematic exhibition space "Education for the masses - Lighting up the future".
This is the first time AR technology applying spatial computing has been deployed at important historical sites, opening up a completely new way of visiting - harmoniously combining traditional values and modern technology.
The entire second floor of the Vietnam Revolution Museum has been digitized with high precision, creating a platform for displaying vivid digital content right at the actual location: 3D models recreating the context, characters, and artifacts; documentaries; interactive signs and instructions; automatic explanations by topic.
With the computer vision visual positioning technology (Visual Positioning System – VPS) developed by Viettel High Tech, visitors only need to raise their phones to explore 3D models recreating history, documentary videos , signs, instructions, illustrative effects and automatic explanations displayed exactly at each actual location – giving the feeling that history is coming alive right before their eyes.
At the thematic exhibition room, AR technology helps recreate the vibrant atmosphere of the "silent war" against illiteracy, taking viewers from the communal houses and pagodas of 1945 to special classrooms in the fields and riverbanks... This space becomes a "window" opening up the depth of history, helping visitors approach valuable stories and artifacts in an intuitive, vivid and personalized way.
This experience offers a "one campus - countless layers of content - no guide" tour, allowing visitors to freely explore, interact and receive information in a vivid, intuitive way without missing any important details. This is considered one of the new trends in smart tourism , especially attractive to young people and international visitors.
Thanks to the ability to precisely classify and locate digital content, Viettel High Tech's system allows for the simultaneous organization of many different topics or exhibitions in the same space, meeting the diverse needs of visitors and ensuring a personalized experience for each group or individual.
Mr. Nguyen Vu Ha, General Director of Viettel High Tech said: " Viettel High Tech aims to become a platform provider and market-leading technology developer. The deployment of augmented reality combined with spatial computing at the Vietnam Revolution Museum is a testament to Viettel High Tech's creativity and technology application capabilities. We believe that this move will open up many new values for museums, tourism, education, bringing Vietnamese technology to the international level ."
Previously, this solution was introduced at the Presidential Palace Relic Site with more than 40,000 m2 digitized with highly accurate virtual space data.
The application of Viettel High Tech's spatial computing technology to special national sites and monuments not only brings a breakthrough sightseeing experience, but also contributes to preserving, honoring and spreading historical values through the language of digital technology. This is an important step forward, opening up prospects for AR applications in culture, education, tourism and heritage conservation.
