On October 10, the Faculty of Information Technology - University of Science (VNU-HCM) celebrated its 30th anniversary and received the Government's Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit from VNU-HCM.
The Faculty of Information Technology, University of Natural Sciences, was established on December 13, 1994, based on the Department of Informatics (Faculty of Mathematics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Science). After 30 years of operation, the Faculty has affirmed its pioneering position, becoming a prestigious training and research cradle, a place to cultivate knowledge, nurture talents and make lasting contributions to the development of science and technology in Vietnam.

Speaking at the 30th anniversary ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Vice President of VNU-HCM, assessed that throughout the development process, the Faculty has been recognized by the state and society as a pioneer in training and research in the field of information technology, especially with talented, advanced and high-quality programs.
That success comes from the determination to pave the way for innovation, a team of dedicated lecturers and a dynamic staff, always updating training programs to meet practical needs.
"30 years is a milestone enough to look back on the process of growth and also a foundation for a stronger breakthrough in the new period" - Vice President of VNU-HCM said and expected that the Faculty of Information Technology will continue to pioneer in research programs and strategic projects, contributing to building VNU-HCM into a center of knowledge and innovation in the region.

The leaders of VNU-HCM also pledged to always accompany and create conditions for the Faculty to expand international cooperation, attract exchange students and become the core in connecting with the world's top 200 universities, as well as participate in contributing policies on digital transformation for the VNU-HCM system.
