HUFLIT University Principal: "Standard scores do not measure human values"

(NLDO)- HUFLIT Principal encouraged new students that only effort and courage can lead to success.

On October 10, speaking at the opening ceremony of the 31st class of 2025, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology (HUFLIT), gave words of encouragement, motivation and inspiration to new students.

At the beginning, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan congratulated the new students - those who have overcome the difficult exam journey to be here. He said: "I understand that this year's admission is very strange. Many students feel that the admission scores at universities seem to be "lower than every year", but as the principal, I want to tell you one thing: Never let the admission scores judge our value."

The HUFLIT principal believes that this year’s benchmark system is forced to combine many different criteria into a single number – like “catching a whale swimming”, “a tiger running” and “an eagle flying”… and then score them all in a single competition. No matter how complex the algorithm is, it is difficult to be fair to everyone.

"Therefore, your presence at HUFLIT today is not simply the result of an exam but a living proof of your own efforts, will and mettle. No one and no number has the right to make you feel worthless. The entrance score does not determine our life. What is decisive is how we stand up from that starting line and break through to the finish line" - Mr. Tuan said.

"Be brave and declare: Ten years from now, I will be at a very different level. And this 3.5-year journey at HUFLIT is the stepping stone for me to create that brilliant future!" - HUFLIT leader emphasized.

Mr. Tuan also shared with the new students that the school does not follow the crowd, but steadfastly chooses the path of quality. HUFLIT is a home with a tradition of learning, a place that has given wings to many successful alumni.

"And I want to share with you a philosophy of life that has nurtured many generations of HUFLIT: Pursuing happiness and freedom based on ethics and intelligence! Happiness does not lie in what you have but in what you can bring to others" - Mr. Tuan said.

HUFLIT Principal emphasized that time and youth are the most valuable assets in life. You have such a precious asset, so use your youth in a useful way. Consider this as a giant park, you cannot play all the games in it. But if you are smart, understand the rules and choose the right game, you will enjoy it more, more deeply, more meaningfully. Don't let social networks, games, and hobbies take away from us the most precious thing: time to become a better version of yourself.

And last but perhaps most important: Love yourself. Be proud that you are the only version of yourself, no one can replace you. You go to university to explore , to find out which subject makes your heart flutter, which skill makes you shine, which path will take you far. Live the next 3.5 years to the fullest, commit and grow up.

At the opening ceremony of the 31st class of 2025, HUFLIT received the certificate of quality accreditation for master's degree education in information technology and business administration. Up to now, the school has been recognized as meeting the standards of educational institutions (cycle 2) in 2023, nearly 10 training programs, including 2 master's degree training programs.

On this occasion, the school also awarded scholarships to students worth more than 34.5 billion VND.
