Higher purity 99.99 silver was listed at VND1,618,000 for buying and VND1,648,000 for selling per tael, up VND30,000 in both directions.

Silver price in Ho Chi Minh City market

In Ho Chi Minh City, the price of 99.9 silver (1 tael) was at VND1,612,000 (buy) and VND1,646,000 (sell), up VND30,000 in both directions.

Silver 99.99 in Ho Chi Minh City is priced at 1,619,000 VND for buying and 1,654,000 VND for selling per tael, an increase of 30,000 VND for both buying and selling compared to October 10.

World silver prices surged to near historic levels

The world spot silver price hit a record high of 51.24 USD/ounce, a price not seen since the 1980s. The trading session closed at 49.65 USD/ounce, recording an increase of 0.9 USD compared to the beginning of the day.

Unlike the 1980 bull run, the current rally is driven by fundamentals from the real economy. Analysts liken silver to a more volatile version of gold. Silver has risen more than 70% since the start of the year, far outpacing gold’s 50% gain. The narrowing price gap underscores silver’s growing appeal to precious metals investors.

Many experts predict that silver prices could reach $100 an ounce by 2026 if industrial consumption trends continue.

However, the market is currently showing signs of overbought conditions. Investors are advised to be cautious of large short-term price movements, although market sentiment remains very optimistic.
