On the morning of October 11th, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ha Tinh province inspected the implementation of the pineapple production linkage model with Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company in Ky Hoa commune.

Accordingly, the delegation inspected the production, care, and harvesting progress of the pineapple cultivation cooperative model in Ky Hoa commune, and listened to reports from the local authorities and businesses on the implementation results, initial effectiveness, and some directions for expanding production in the future.
In 2024, Ky Hoa commune began collaborating with Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company (Ninh Binh province) to conduct a trial planting of pineapples on an area of 16 hectares. After more than 15 months since planting, the first pineapple harvest has begun, opening up a new economic development direction for local farmers.
According to assessments, the first pineapple crop yielded a good harvest, with each fruit weighing between 0.3 and 1 kg, an estimated yield of 40-45 tons/ha, and a total projected production of over 400 tons. This model received technical support from Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company for planting, caring for, and purchasing all the produce. The commune is continuing to review land resources and expand the pineapple cultivation area to ensure the establishment of a raw material supply for the company's processing operations.

Currently, Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company is cultivating over 240 hectares in partnership with local farmers. This includes 194 hectares of grassland cultivated with Binh Ha Livestock Joint Stock Company (in Ky Hoa, Ky Lac, and Cam Lac communes), and 50.42 hectares cultivated with local households (16 ha in Ky Hoa, 2.5 ha in Cam Lac, 10 ha in Cam Xuyen, 5 ha in Huong Xuan, 4.29 ha in Vu Quang, 8.01 ha in Mai Hoa, and 4.62 ha in Thuong Duc).
Two pineapple varieties are grown in Ha Tinh: Queen and Cayen. The company has also organized technical training, supplied seedlings, and sent technical staff to guide households participating in the production linkage; preparing land, manpower, fertilizers, and other supplies for production. In general, according to surveys, the pineapple plants are growing and developing well; in particular, some areas in Cam Xuyen and Ky Hoa communes have begun to be harvested.

During the inspection, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Le Ngoc Huan assessed that the pineapple production linkage model has initially yielded good results, opening up a direction for economic development suitable to the natural conditions and existing advantages of the locality.
In the coming period, the province will continue to conduct surveys and expand the area of pineapple cultivation through value chains, encouraging people to invest in production towards a commercial scale; focusing on accompanying businesses in the process of investment, production organization and product consumption in order to gradually form concentrated production areas linked to processing and consumption in a stable and sustainable manner in Ha Tinh.
