Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhat Hang, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, commented on the collection of fees from the Parents' Association of Le Ngoc Han Primary School - Ben Thanh Ward - a central ward of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that he had received information reflected on the media and Hotline 1022 from parents of students of Le Ngoc Han Primary School (Ben Thanh Ward) about the collection of fees from the parents' association of each class being inappropriate and not in accordance with regulations.
The Department of Education and Training has worked with the Department of Culture and Society, the People's Committee of Ben Thanh Ward and the Board of Directors of Le Ngoc Han Primary School to verify the content of the above incident.
The principal's report said that the 5/2 class representative board, Le Ngoc Han Primary School, had presented a table of expected income and expenditure for the year of the parents' association, including the content of "Equipping and installing network systems for the class".
“ Letting the class parents' association propose proposed contents that are not in accordance with the regulations, at point b, clause 4, article 10, Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT dated November 22, 2011 of the Ministry of Education and Training as above, causes frustration for parents of students at the school, and creates negative public opinion about the education and training sector, related to the management and operation responsibilities of the school principal,” Ms. Hang stated.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requested the People's Committee of Ben Thanh Ward to review the responsibility of the Principal of Le Ngoc Han Primary School in the management of the unit, allowing negative public opinion to affect the reputation of the school and the industry. At the same time, the People's Committee of Ben Thanh Ward was requested to have a plan for a general review, take measures to promptly handle and rectify all educational establishments in the entire ward, in order to rectify any violations that occurred (if any), and take measures to avoid similar situations from happening.
