On the afternoon of October 9, Viettel said that on October 8 and 9, Viettel's drones carried out 200 deliveries of essential goods (equivalent to 5 tons of goods) and 30 navigation trips, helping rescue forces determine the fastest route to deeply flooded areas in Nga My commune ( Thai Nguyen province).
Notably, late at night on October 8, upon receiving the news, the support team urgently flew a drone over the flooded area to promptly bring medicine and essential supplies to the family of a 4-month-old baby with a high fever and convulsions.
The drones have a maximum flight range of 5km, an operating altitude of 100m, a maximum payload of 50kg, and are capable of operating continuously 24/7 thanks to a quick charging and battery replacement mechanism. Each flight takes only 5 minutes to complete the transport mission.
Viettel representative said that the application of drones in relief work not only helps shorten the time to reach isolated people, but also demonstrates the group's efforts in applying technology to serve the community, especially in emergency situations due to natural disasters.
