[Photo] The heartfelt solidarity of overseas Vietnamese amidst countless remote islands.

After nearly 30 hours of sailing, the 2026 Task Force No. 10, comprising 48 overseas Vietnamese from 22 countries along with representatives from various agencies and units, arrived at its first stop on its sea voyage to the Truong Sa Special Economic Zone. We were impressed by the lush green of the mangrove, Terminalia catappa, and other trees, the verdant vegetable gardens, and the vibrant colors of the bougainvillea flowers.

Overseas Vietnamese are excited about the sea voyage through 7 islands and islets of the Truong Sa archipelago, including: Song Tu Tay, Son Ca, Nam Yet, Da Lon C, Sinh Ton, Da Tay A, Truong Sa and the DK1/19 (Que Duong) platform.

The visit to Truong Sa and the DK1 platform is an annual activity organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs ) in coordination with the Naval Command since 2012.

The program has made a significant contribution to disseminating the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State, while affirming that the Vietnamese community abroad is an inseparable part of the nation, playing an active role in the building and protection of the Fatherland.

The trip acknowledged the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community abroad, with a total value of over 1.2 billion VND in donations, including cash, electronic equipment, and essential supplies. These meaningful gifts will contribute to improving the material and spiritual lives of officers, soldiers, and people on the islands and offshore platforms.

There are journeys that don't need to be marked on a map; these are voyages filled with the heartfelt affection of overseas Vietnamese from all over the world, carrying simple things: boxes of books, toys, small gifts packed with the warmth of the mainland.

April in Truong Sa is a very special time, often referred to as the "festival month" by the locals, as the military and civilians on the islands welcome numerous delegations from the mainland who come to visit and interact with them.
ndo_br_11.jpg
The most unforgettable images were when the delegation set foot on the islands, from the eyes, smiles, and handshakes of overseas Vietnamese with the soldiers and civilians on the islands, which were so heartwarming and reflected the deep bond of solidarity between the military and the people.

On the ship's deck, on the islands in the middle of the ocean, songs were sung in the sea breeze, harmonizing among overseas Vietnamese and the officers and soldiers.

In this sacred sea and island region, when the singing begins, everything seems to calm down. Some soldiers silently nod, some tightly purse their lips, and some turn their faces away slightly. It is a moment when the lyrics have touched their souls.

Life in Truong Sa is changing for the better. Truong Sa is far away, but not so far. Because in that homeland of the sea and islands, life continues to flourish, growing greener every day.

The visit to Truong Sa and the DK1 platform helped overseas Vietnamese better understand the difficulties and hardships in protecting the sovereignty of the country's seas and islands; contributing to strengthening their faith and raising their sense of responsibility to always look towards their homeland.
