The 20s
In the videos shared by Tien (30 years old), many people were impressed by the image of the young man, who lost both forearms, diligently performing daily tasks related to farming, such as tending his family's jackfruit orchard, planting rice, rowing a boat to harvest water hyacinths, and watering plants. Netizens praised Tien's optimism and fighting spirit, and left wishes for his health, hoping he would find joy and happiness.
Speaking to Thanh Nien newspaper , Tien said that he wanted to document his journey, connect with many friends, and spread positive energy by creating his personal channel.
Previously, tragedy struck at the end of 2016 when he suffered an electrical accident while working as a construction laborer. He miraculously survived, but Tiến permanently lost almost both of his arms. For a 20-year-old, it was a huge shock. "After being discharged from the hospital, I started a new life without my arms. Initially, I had so many negative thoughts that I wanted to end my life. Luckily, my family was there to support, comfort, and encourage me, and I gradually calmed down and accepted reality," Tiến recounted.
Six years after the accident, he gradually adapted to life without arms, able to take care of his personal hygiene, eat, and do odd jobs to help his family, although it was not easy. However, feelings of shame and inferiority kept him "staying indoors," avoiding going out to meet or talk to anyone.

Tiến connected with many people in similar situations, finding joy and meaning in life.

"Then, through social media, I started to connect with many people who were in similar situations. After those meetings and sharing sessions, I began to feel more optimistic and open up. I realized that I was much luckier than many others, so I appreciated my current life even more," Tiến expressed. From then on, he began to step out of his closed world , continuing to move forward with optimism and a love for life.
On the day her son had the accident, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Chanh (61 years old) was extremely worried. Knowing that her son would not be able to keep his arms, she choked up and said, "If I could exchange my two arms for yours, I would gladly do so!" It was the love of his mother and family that gave the young man the motivation he needed.

Mrs. Chanh said that she and her husband have four children, two sons and two daughters, with Tien being the youngest. Since their son started a new life after the accident, she and her husband have always created conditions to help him have faith in life and strive to overcome challenges.
Seeing his son overcome his traumatic past, Mr. Nguyen Van Bao (65 years old) feels somewhat relieved. He and his wife regularly watch their son's videos, encouraging him to share more moments from his daily life with others so he can find joy and connection.
Mr. Tien shared that currently, in addition to farming, he also runs an online business to earn extra income to support himself and help his family. He is content with his peaceful life at the moment and vows to strive tirelessly every day to repay his parents' kindness.
"My social media channel is called 'Tien, Keep Going!' It's both a message of encouragement from my loved ones and a way to motivate myself. I hope that those who share my situation will live happily and find meaning in life," the kind-hearted farmer shared.
