War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27, is not only a historical milestone, but also a day for the people and youth of the whole country to express their gratitude and remember the contributions of those who have incarnated into the motherland to make the homeland green again, to unite the country, and to make the red flag with yellow star fly across the country.
On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), on July 26 and 27, Dak Lak Provincial Youth Union solemnly held a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at Dak Lak Provincial Martyrs Cemetery, Tan Lap Ward and Dak Lak Provincial Martyrs Cemetery in Phu Yen Ward.
At the same time, the Youth Union of wards and communes in the province simultaneously organized candle lighting ceremonies at cemeteries, memorials, martyrs' monuments, and war monuments in the locality to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.
Comrade Luong Minh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Youth Union said: 78 years have passed, War Invalids and Martyrs Day July 27 is not only a historical milestone, but also a day for the people and youth of the whole country to express their gratitude and remember the contributions of those who have incarnated into the motherland to make the homeland green again, to unite the country, to make the red flag with yellow star fly all over the country.
In recent years, the youth of Dak Lak province have made constant efforts to innovate the content and methods of activities; implemented many practical activities such as: restoring portraits of martyrs, visiting and giving gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of policy beneficiaries, families of wounded and sick soldiers, families with meritorious services to the revolution; mobilizing union members and young people to support, help and encourage the repair of houses for families of policy beneficiaries, wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the revolution; participating in taking care of cemeteries, steles, and memorials of heroic martyrs; organizing meals of love at the homes of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; organizing medical examination and treatment activities for women and mothers...
Dak Lak youth today are determined to continue writing the story of peace, solidarity and creativity to build a strong Youth Union, a new generation of Dak Lak youth worthy of the trust of the Party, the people and those who have fallen.
After the ceremony, delegates and members of the Youth Union and young people participated in offering incense and laying wreaths in memory of the heroic martyrs, bearing the words "The youth of all ethnic groups in Dak Lak province forever remember the heroic martyrs" at the Memorial; participated in lighting candles, laying flowers and burning incense on over 2,300 graves, the resting place of the outstanding children of the homeland and country, those who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, and noble international obligations.
