At this time, the rice fields in Dong Hung district (Thai Binh province) have begun to ripen. Farmers are taking advantage of the favorable weather to harvest rice early. The sound of combine harvesters mixed with the laughter of farmers creates a bustling echo throughout the area.

It is the beginning of the hot season, which is also the time when the rice is ripe. Because the weather in some places reaches 38 - 40 degrees, many people take advantage of going to the fields early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Especially on cooler days, the temperature drops, which is favorable for people to harvest rice by hand to collect more stubble.

Ms. Dang Thi Chien (a resident of Hong Viet commune, Dong Hung district) said: "Because my rice ripened first and the field is located inside, the harvester cannot enter, so today the weather is milder than usual, my family cuts it manually. A 10 meter field like this, including the transportation, will take half a day to finish."

After harvesting, people will use sickles to split the rice plant in half, separating the stubble and the rice ears.

With the manual harvesting method, people will bundle the rice into moderate bundles for easy transport ashore.

With a workforce of five people, Mr. Tu's family (in Tu village, Hong Viet commune, Dong Hung district) took advantage of the early morning to go to the field to complete the harvest of 97 sticky rice plots, an area of ​​2 sao.

It is known that the entire Hong Viet commune (Dong Hung district) currently has about 327 hectares of rice land. Due to favorable weather, this year's rice yield is higher than last year (2022).
