In the early hours of May 9th, Antony scored and assisted a goal to help Real Betis draw 2-2 with Fiorentina, securing their place in the UEFA Europa Conference League final with an aggregate score of 4-3.

In a match played at the same time, Antony's club, Manchester United, also secured their place in the UEFA Europa League final after overcoming Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals.

UEFA regulations allow a player to play for two different clubs in different European cup competitions in the same season, provided the player is properly registered. This rule makes it possible for Antony to receive medals from both competitions, depending on the final results of Betis and Manchester United.

If this comes true, Antony could become the first player in history to win two European cups in a single season. Before moving to Betis on loan in the summer 2025 transfer window, the Brazilian star had made four appearances for MU in the Europa League group stage.

Besides Antony, coach Erik ten Hag could also receive a medal if Manchester United win the Europa League. According to the tournament organizers' regulations, the winning team will receive all 50 medals and may award them to any individual, including staff members no longer working at the club.
