With just a few weeks to go until WWDC 2025, rumors of Apple's interface redesign are already buzzing across the tech community.

The focus this time is on “Solarium” – the internal name Apple uses to refer to the all-new user interface that is expected to change the look of iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, and beyond.

According to Bloomberg’s “Power On” report, “Solarium” was inspired by rooms flooded with sunlight through glass windows – and that’s the core spirit Apple wants to convey: a clean, modern, and brighter interface than ever.

These changes won't just be limited to the three main operating systems, but will also extend to tvOS, watchOS, and even visionOS will be tweaked for sync.

The key to Solarium is visual consistency across platforms. Apple wants users to feel seamless when switching from iPhone to Mac, from Apple Watch to Apple TV.

This will likely manifest itself in more rounded squircle icons, a smooth frosted glass overlay across the interface, and controls that appear to “float” in space – features that were first seen on Vision Pro’s visionOS.

Back in April, a leaked video outlined what users could expect from iOS 19 with the Solarium design, including softer icons, floating windows, and frosted glass effects throughout the interface.

While leakers still argue over who has the most accurate information, everyone agrees that Apple is facing a major design shift after years of sticking to a familiar style.

If everything goes as predicted, WWDC 2025 will be the stage for Apple to announce an interface revolution – not simply an aesthetic update, but an affirmation that design has always been an inseparable “DNA” of the Apple house.
