Arsenal recruits 3rd new player

Arsenal have officially signed midfielder Christian Norgaard from Brentford to replace Thomas Partey this summer.

Norgaard is Arsenal's next signing.

The Gunners agreed to spend £9 million to complete the deal soon, making Norgaard the third new player at Emirates Stadium after Martin Zubimendi and Kepa.

This move shows Arsenal's determination to strengthen their midfield, especially when Jorginho has left the Emirates and Thomas Partey has no intention of signing a new contract.

Brentford have agreed to let Norgaard undergo a medical with Arsenal after the Dane agreed personal terms with the Gunners. Norgaard is expected to join Zubimendi in adding depth to Arsenal's current midfield, alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.

Norgaard joined Brentford in 2019, helping the club gain promotion to the Premier League under fellow Dane Thomas Frank. Frank has now moved to Tottenham, and the pair could meet again in the London derby next season.

Before Norgaard, Arsenal also agreed to spend £5 million to recruit goalkeeper Kepa from Bournemouth, making him a competitor for David Raya. Last season, the Spanish goalkeeper kept 8 clean sheets in 31 appearances.

Arsenal are currently focusing on recruiting striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP. However, the Portuguese club is demanding no less than 85 million pounds to release him.

Rice's masterpiece helps Arsenal secure a ticket to the Champions League. In the 55th minute, Declan Rice finished neatly into the far corner, scoring the only goal to help Arsenal defeat Newcastle 1-0 in round 37 of the Premier League, thereby securing a ticket to the Champions League.
