Australia beat India 2-0 in opening match of Asian Cup 2023
Against the underdog India, Australia completely controlled the game in the first half but had difficulty finding a goal due to poor finishing from the attack.
However, India's crowded defense in their home field was no longer effective when they conceded a goal after only 5 minutes of play in the second half.

In the 50th minute, goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu made a mistake when clearing the ball, causing it to bounce to Jackson Irvine who was waiting. The Australian midfielder easily finished into the empty net, opening the score for his team.
This goal was the most important turning point of the match, helping the "kangaroo country" team relieve pressure.
In the 72nd minute, Australia's substitute player, Jordan Bos, helped the home team quickly seal a 2-0 victory with a close-range tap-in after a cross from his teammate.
This victory helps Australia temporarily climb to the top of Group B, before the match between Uzbekistan and Syria takes place at 1:30 a.m. on January 14 (Vietnam time).
