coastal village community
Man Thai village is located in Son Tra ward - the most developed coastal tourism center of Da Nang. Amidst high-rise hotels and bustling streets, the village still retains its rustic, rural charm.
Here, every small house, every moss-covered wall, every old temple and tomb carries a story, a beauty that endures through time.
Min Thai culture is closely linked to the sea. The Fishing Festival, considered the soul of the fishermen's spiritual life, is held annually in early spring, which also marks the beginning of the seafood harvesting season.
More than just a spiritual ritual to pray for a bountiful fishing season, the festival is also an opportunity for the community to remember their ancestors, those who pioneered and built this land.
Each festival season is an occasion when Man Thai village bursts forth like a song of the sea, connecting the past and present in the joy of reunion with characteristic folk activities such as singing Bài Chòi, Hát Bà Trạo, Chèo, Tuồng, and traditional games like stick pushing, carrying fish, rowing in baskets, tug-of-war…
One of the most iconic images of the Mân Thái fishing village is the fish market on the beach. While the city is still asleep, the fishermen begin to return after a night at sea. Around 3-4 a.m., in the dim light, the entire beach is bustling with baskets of fish and shrimp being unloaded from the boats, filled with the cheerful shouts of buyers and sellers, creating a vibrant symphony of simple everyday life.
That small market is not only a place of livelihood for the villagers, but also a familiar meeting point for many tourists. Some people wake up early to buy fresh seafood, while others stop by not to buy anything but simply to satisfy their passion for discovering a touch of rural charm within the seaside town.
The night fish market becomes a meeting place for villagers and tourists from all over, allowing them to immerse themselves in this unique commercial atmosphere and clearly feel the peaceful life of the coastal village community. As the fish market gradually closes and dawn breaks, tourists can begin to enjoy a new day on the Mân Thái beach.
An ideal tourist destination
The rapid development of the Son Tra coastal area has not diminished the unique charm of Man Thai, but rather enhanced its rustic and tranquil beauty. With its peaceful scenery, close-knit community, and profound local culture, Man Thai is gradually becoming an ideal destination for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle.

Visitors can check in at the pristine blue beach, stroll along the vibrant mural-lined path, or immerse themselves directly in the lives of fishermen through activities such as: pulling in fishing nets, rowing boats, surfing, fishing, paddleboarding, scuba diving, and enjoying fresh seafood just brought ashore.
Beyond traditional experiences, Man Thai today also embraces a modern flair through international-level art and sports events such as the Ironman 70.3 Da Nang race and the DANA COLOR RACE stand-up paddleboarding race...
One of the most unique highlights of this summer is the outdoor installation exhibition "The Story of the Fishing Village" - an art space inspired by the life, work, and beliefs of local fishermen.
The exhibition comprises four main themes: Fishing Waves, Venturing Out to Sea, Salty Flavors, and Mural Garden, each area being a visually rich and emotional slice of life, recreating the journey of livelihood, community culture, and memories of the fishing village through the art of installation, light, and movement.

Familiar images such as baskets, oars, fish sauce jars, and slanted flagpoles are creatively recreated, blending modern touches with the essence of the countryside.
The exhibition is a crossroads between the memories of the fishing village and contemporary art, opening up a new perspective on Man Thai for both locals and tourists. It's not just a space for appreciation, but also a bridge between traditional values and the modern world, where indigenous values are retold through light, images, and emotions.
Amidst constant development, Man Thai still needs to be preserved as a living part of Da Nang's memory. Developing tourism in conjunction with cultural preservation, environmental protection, and maintaining traditional village customs will be the way for Man Thai to truly become a destination that is both new and familiar.
