This is the largest amount of money that Ms. Harris has raised at a fundraising event since joining the Democratic Party's presidential campaign. This year's election is in a fierce phase, with just over 40 days left until voting day and Ms. Harris is said to have an advantage since becoming the official candidate of the Democratic Party to run for US president. The latest polls conducted by NBC and CBS news agencies show that Ms. Harris is showing signs of breaking through compared to Mr. Donald Trump, when leading the former US President in these polls. On the same day, Ms. Harris said that she will outline her vision for the economy in a speech this week. The Democratic nominee is expected to unveil a series of new economic policies this week aimed at helping Americans create wealth and creating economic incentives for businesses to support that goal, according to people familiar with the matter. The policies could be unveiled in Pittsburgh on September 25, amid ambivalence among many voters about how Harris would help them economically if elected president, including in key swing states. During the 2020 presidential campaign, Harris — as Joe Biden’s running mate — proposed significantly raising pay for millions of public school teachers, requiring companies to disclose the pay gap between men and women and imposing penalties on those that fail to close it.
