During the visit to China, the Vietnamese high-ranking economic delegation led by Mr. Le Quang Manh, member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee, visited Alibaba's headquarters at Xixi Campus, Hangzhou, China. There, the delegation was welcomed by Mr. Shawn Yang, General Manager of Global Business Development of Alibaba.com, and other representatives of Alibaba.

"We are very impressed with Alibaba's advanced technology, extensive global reach and unwavering commitment to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises," said Mr. Le Quang Manh, expressing his hope that the Vietnamese Government and Alibaba will increase the exchange of ideas, creating the most favorable conditions for the further development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam in the fields of digital economy and cross-border e-commerce.

The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Shawn Yang, General Manager of Global Business Development of Alibaba.com.

During this visit, Mr. Yang introduced Alibaba.com's development in Vietnam, emphasizing its position as the world's leading B2B e-commerce platform and strategies to promote the presence of Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises in global digital commerce.

"Alibaba.com is working to increase the visibility of Vietnamese suppliers and products to buyers around the world. We equip Vietnamese SMEs with the tools, resources and market intelligence they need to establish a strong presence and grow in the global market. We will continue to step up our efforts to support the growth of Vietnamese businesses, focusing on technology, infrastructure and talent development," Mr. Yang affirmed.

Alibaba.com began operating in Vietnam in 2009. Over the past 15 years, the brand has served thousands of Vietnamese businesses, facilitating transactions with buyers from over 200 countries and regions. The platform currently has about 1.8 million Vietnamese products, across nearly 50 major product categories, including categories where Vietnamese SMEs have a competitive advantage, such as agricultural products, furniture, and cosmetics.

In the future, Alibaba.com Vietnam plans to focus its investments on three main areas: strongly promoting the application of artificial intelligence (AI) tools by small and medium-sized enterprises to optimize operational efficiency; enhancing integration into the digital economy through services such as Trade Assurance - a solution designed to ensure the safety of cross-border trade and strengthen buyer confidence; improving customer service quality through investment in recruiting and training local talent, thereby providing specialized solutions that are more suitable to the needs of Vietnamese suppliers.
