How is Generation Alpha different?
By 2029, the economic footprint of Generation Alpha will exceed $5.46 trillion. This 'giant' generation is poised to reshape the consumer landscape and digital trends, with shopping journeys closely tied to technological experiences.
However, children born between 2010 and 2024 will face many challenges. The Glass Generation is another name referring to the Alpha gene.
These young people face the "disease" of excessive information overload and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), constantly fearing they will fall behind and be less knowledgeable. But this race is exhausting both physically and mentally. Living in so much negativity makes Alpha genes like glass—transparent but very fragile.
Virtual life is full of allure but also temptations, causing young people to be trapped in a cycle of highs and lows and lacking empathy for others.
Technological advancements are inadvertently putting pressure on the next generation, Gen Z.
Knowing this, many parents will likely ponder. Throughout the year, parents entrust their children to the school and teachers for education and care. When summer comes, adults struggle to figure out how to meet the different needs of the new generation.
Alpha gene's summer formula
To address the concerns of Alpha parents, ILA Vietnam has developed a superior summer 'formula' that both leverages the advantages and tackles the challenges of this new generation.
The Alpha Generation's Summer Formula from ILA Vietnam
Summer programs do not completely eliminate technology from classrooms and student activities. Alpha-generation children have a higher level of digital independence than previous generations, so this advantage should be leveraged to improve their academic performance.
From smart TVs and tablets to modern learning management systems, students will hone their technological skills alongside mastering English.
The summer program is more than just English classes. The curriculum is designed around three elements: learning, playing, and experiencing. Project-based classes, talent development, and outdoor activities give students the opportunity to understand themselves, broaden their thinking, and cultivate essential social skills.
Summer programs do not put additional pressure on students to achieve academic success. They are free to choose the experiences they desire, from art, science, sports, music , travel and exploration to community activities.
The results of the summer course are not judged by grades, but by the changes in each student. Children become more confident, creative, happy, and optimistic about themselves, rather than comparing themselves to others. That is the most important value.
Joy and happiness nurture the mental health of this vulnerable generation.
One interesting aspect of this year's ILA summer course is the guidance provided to students on community project development.
You will gain some insight into the questions: What is love, what is pure giving, and have the opportunity to connect emotionally with those around you. Your journey of self-discovery and finding your place in society will also become clearer.
ILA summer course students raise funds for a community project with their handmade products.
Summer will eventually end in the passage of time, but the value it brings will stay with your child throughout their journey of growing up.
Understanding yourself, being strong, defining your identity, and recognizing your influence on world change is the message ILA Summer Never Ends sends to Generation Alpha – the children of the digital age and global connectivity.
