Heavy rains have caused floods and landslides in many places, killing three people in Quang Tri , Thanh Hoa and Hoa Binh, and three people missing in Son La.
Affected by the tropical low pressure circulation, over the past two days, many places in the North have had heavy rain. The rainfall from 7:00 p.m. on September 27 to 5:00 p.m. today in Huong Son ( Hanoi ) was more than 300 mm, in Thanh Luong, Ba Hang Doi (Hoa Binh), Ba Sao (Ha Nam) was more than 200 mm, and in Ti Si Lang (Yen Bai) was 150 mm.
The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said that floods and rains killed three people, including one person in Quang Tri who was struck by lightning, a 14-year-old child in Thanh Hoa who slipped into a stream, and one person in Hoa Binh who was swept away by floodwaters.
Heavy rain has caused many streets in Hanoi such as Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Xien, Pham Hung to be flooded 30-50 cm deep, paralyzing traffic.
Along with that, the flood on Boi River in Hung Thi ( Hoa Binh ) rose 0.76 m below alert level three. Thao River in Yen Bai reached alert level one, Day River in Phu Ly, Hoang Long River in Ben De reached alert level two, some small rivers and streams in Hoa Binh reached alert level three.

Regarding housing, in Hoa Binh, 24 houses were flooded, 60 houses were isolated; 75 houses were damaged by landslides, mainly in Hoa Binh. Nghe An also had 145 houses flooded in Thai Hoa and Quy Hop.
Nearly 15,000 hectares of rice were flooded, mainly in Nam Dinh with more than 7,000 hectares, and Ha Nam with nearly 6,000 hectares. Along with that, more than 1,800 hectares of crops were flooded, more than 3,700 hectares were damaged, concentrated in Ha Nam and Thai Binh.
Heavy rain also caused landslides at two dike locations in Hanoi, including the right dike of Bui at the upstream position of the culvert through Ly Nhan pumping station, Nam Phuong Tien commune, Chuong My district and the upstream slope of the left dike of Day with a length of 10 m.
Regarding traffic, Lao Cai recorded 5 landslides on National Highway 4D, provincial roads 151, 151B, 152, 152B, 155, 157, 162 with 33 locations of nearly 7,000 cubic meters of soil and rock. In Yen Bai, landslides occurred at some main locations of Tram Tau district; Phu Tho had a landslide in Yen Lap district of more than 2,500 cubic meters. Hoa Binh recorded a landslide on National Highway 6 with more than 6,000 cubic meters of soil.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from the evening of September 28 to the morning of September 29, the delta, midland, northeastern regions of the North and Thanh Hoa will see widespread rain of 30-70 mm, with some places receiving over 100 mm. From tomorrow afternoon, heavy rain in the above areas will decrease rapidly.
