Tan Yen early-ripening litchi, a famous specialty product of Bac Giang province and Tan Yen district. This year, the area of Tan Yen litchi is 1,375 hectares, with an estimated output of 15,500 tons (an increase of 500 tons compared to 2024); of which early-ripening litchi is 1,250 hectares, with an estimated output of 15,000 tons.
The entire district maintains an area of lychee that ensures food safety and quality of 900 hectares, of which the area of lychee that has been certified to meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards is maintained at 455 hectares; there are 33 codes for growing lychee for export (of which 30 codes are maintained, 3 new codes are granted) with a total area of 1,036 hectares for export to China, Japan, EU, Thailand, Australia, etc.
Early-ripening lychees from Tan Yen begin to be harvested from the end of May, concentrated in early June, and are expected to end around June 15. According to Vice Chairman of Tan Yen District People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc, overcoming the harsh weather, with the love of trees and the care experience of the people, early-ripening lychees from Tan Yen in 2025 are assessed by the market to have superior quality, ensuring food safety, traceability of origin, and continue to be trusted and chosen by consumers.

In just a short time, Tan Yen district will enter the lychee harvest. All levels, sectors and localities in the district are committed to creating the most favorable conditions to support lychee growers, businesses and traders in the work of harvesting, packaging and consuming lychees; conducting inspections of the necessary conditions for Tan Yen early-ripening lychees to meet the highest standards for export to markets such as Japan, EU, Australia...
According to the People's Committee of Tan Yen district, up to now, units and enterprises have signed more than 30 memorandums of understanding, contracts on production and consumption of fabric; 5 memorandums of understanding in surveying, building tours, products, and tourist destinations in Tan Yen district for companies, enterprises, and travel agencies.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung, Director of Toan Cau Food Import-Export Joint Stock Company, a unit specializing in processing and exporting agricultural products to markets in Japan, Europe, the United States and Australia, in recent years, the company has coordinated with cooperatives in Tan Yen to deploy GlobalGAP-standard raw material areas, organize local processing and packaging, support growing area codes, traceability, and transport by refrigerated containers to ensure quality when exporting. This year, the company continues to increase the purchase of Tan Yen litchi to serve orders to Japan, the United States and Australia.
However, for Tan Yen litchi products to go far and last, building a closely linked value chain is the key factor. This value chain is not simply “purchasing enterprises-producing farmers”, but a synchronous coordination between 5 links: standard raw material areas, production according to safe processes, harvesting according to correct techniques, modern processing-preservation and consumption in a professional and transparent manner.
Mr. Hung affirmed that international consumers not only need delicious products, but also need safe, transparent, traceable products, and especially products associated with a trustworthy story about quality and sustainability.
At the conference, many units, businesses and cooperatives signed a memorandum of understanding on consuming early-ripening lychees and developing community tourism and eco-tourism in Tan Yen district by 2025.
