At the end of the qualifying round at a distance of 1,900m, 32 jockeys with the least time, no violations, will continue to compete in the final round tomorrow (June 7). Of which, communes and towns of Bac Ha district have 12 jockeys; the remaining are Bat Xat district 7; Simacai district 4; Ham Yen district (Tuyen Quang) 6; Son La province 3.
Local people and tourists from near and far are eagerly awaiting the opening day of the exciting and fierce competition between local pack horses and brave and talented barefoot and bareback riders on the poetic white plateau of Bac Ha.

In particular, this year there will be a record-breaking stick dance with the participation of 600 Bac Ha students. This is one of the special supporting cultural activities at the final round of the traditional horse racing tournament which will take place on the morning of June 7 at the district's central stadium.
The money stick dance performance will set a record for the largest scale ever, not only in the district but also in the region. Specifically, 600 students will participate, selected from schools in Thai Giang Pho and Ban Pho communes; High School No. 1 and Bac Ha Ethnic Secondary and High School. In recent days, 600 students have gathered at the district's central stadium to practice under the guidance of outstanding artists in the district.
It is known that the money stick dance, also known as the money stick dance, is an ancient dance of the Mong ethnic group. It has a strong martial arts character, with diverse movements such as: sitting, standing, turning... creating flexible and graceful postures. The dance was developed from the ancient dance with 18 weapons of the Mong people, often taking place during the Khao Quan festival, the Gau Tao festival and important rituals in daily life.

This is also one of the meaningful activities, creating a premise to contribute to the completion of the heritage dossier that Bac Ha district and Lao Cai province are proposing to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to include Sinh Tien stick dance in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage in the near future...
In particular, in the village community activities, the dance is separated into its own dance. Over the years, the dance has become a highly artistic dance, diverse in movements and shapes, creating a special attraction for tourists and having an important meaning in community life. With the important meaning of the Sinh Tien dance and organizing a performance that sets a record for the largest number of participants ever, Bac Ha district wishes to create a good influence for the Sinh Tien dance.
