The 2024 Bac Kan Province Tourism Week will feature simultaneous events in Bac Kan City and the three districts of Cho Don, Ba Be, and Na Ri. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore and experience the places where President Ho Chi Minh and the central government agencies resided, worked, and led the revolution during the resistance against French colonialism at the Cho Don National Special Historical Site; visitors can also immerse themselves in nature, paddle dugout canoes and kayaks on the scenic Ba Be Lake; and enjoy the traditional "Xuan Duong Love Market" festival in Na Ri district.

Also on this occasion, Bac Kan province has several notable activities, such as the art exhibition "Indigo Colors at the Headwaters of the Cau River". In Bac Kan city, there is also an exhibition of specialty agricultural products and OCOP products of Bac Kan province.

Bac Kan province is blessed with natural landscapes of mountains, rivers, lakes, caves, waterfalls, and pristine forest ecosystems, considered to be of exquisite beauty. Highlights include Ba Be Lake, one of the world's 20 most important natural freshwater lakes in need of protection, Ba Be National Park, recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park, and the RAMSA site.

Along with numerous historical revolutionary relics, tangible and intangible heritage sites, Bac Kan province has the potential to develop ecotourism, heritage tourism, resort tourism, community tourism, and adventure sports tourism.

Home to the Tay (over 70%), Nung, Kinh, Mong, Dao, and San Chay ethnic groups, Bac Kan province boasts a diverse culture, with many ancient customs giving rise to traditional festivals, distinct languages ​​and scripts, unique cuisine, folk knowledge, and intangible cultural heritage deeply rooted in the identity of these ethnic groups. Among these, the Then ritual practices of the Tay, Nung, and Thai people have been recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, along with 20 other national intangible cultural heritages.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province, emphasized: The province aims to welcome 1 million tourists in 2024, and Bac Kan will organize cultural, sports, tourism events and festivals associated with the development of diverse tourism products. These efforts will gradually bring the Bac Kan province tourism brand to a wide range of domestic and international tourists.
