According to Mrs. Ly Thi Tha (living in Vinh Trach Dong commune, Bac Lieu city, Bac Lieu province, the grandmother of 3 out of 4 poisoned children), the children's parents all work far away and leave their children with their grandmother to raise. After school, the children often come to the place where their grandmother sells food to play.
On May 11, while playing, the children ate instant noodles mixed with rat poison used by a nearby vendor to trap rats. Upon discovering the incident, the family immediately performed first aid and took the children to Vinh Trach Dong Commune Medical Center. Afterwards, the children were taken to Bac Lieu General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Upon admission, the four children suffered from nausea and dizziness. After examination and diagnosis, the doctors cleaned their stomachs and performed the necessary emergency measures for the children. Through intensive treatment, the children's condition has stabilized and they are being monitored and treated by doctors.
