MobiFone and VPBank shape an integrated financial and telecommunications service model

MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation and Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) officially signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement, aiming to build an integrated ecosystem between telecommunications, finance and banking, expanding digital services to millions of customers nationwide.

The first highlight of this cooperation is the two sides' coordination in implementing the comprehensive digital payment solution mobiPOS for the public administration sector.

This solution integrates the cashless payment system between MobiFone's mobiPOS platform and VPBank 's payment solutions such as SmartPOS, SoftPOS, QR Payment, Ecompay... Thereby supporting state agencies, public administrative centers, and public transaction points in modernizing the collection and disbursement process, enhancing transparency, convenience and safety for people.

This system has been successfully piloted and is ready to be replicated at MobiFone transaction points nationwide in the near future.

The two sides are also cooperating to deploy the Agent Banking model on the network of points of sale and MobiFone stores nationwide. This model, when deployed, will allow people in rural and remote areas to access basic financial services such as opening eKYC accounts, interbank deposits/withdrawals, bill payments, telecommunications top-ups, credit card registration and consumer loans, etc. through MobiFone's existing infrastructure.

Mr. To Manh Cuong, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation, said at the signing ceremony: “MobiFone and VPBank have had a long-term relationship for decades. I believe that with the consensus and determination from both sides, we will build a model of cooperation: effective, sustainable, making practical contributions to the national digital transformation and national development in the new era”.

The strategic cooperation agreement between MobiFone and VPBank marks an important step in the process of integrating telecommunications technology and digital finance, towards building a comprehensive, user-centric service ecosystem.
