Mobilizing human resources and equipment from neighboring provinces to "save the waves"
Sharing about the response work due to natural disasters in affected areas, on October 30, Viettel Telecom Corporation (Viettel Telecom) said that currently Viettel's signal is being maintained stably to serve the direction and operation of flood prevention by the government and the communication needs of people in Hue and Da Nang.
In addition to the on-site technical staff on duty 24/7, Viettel Telecom also mobilized personnel from neighboring provinces to support Hue and Da Nang in transporting fuel, equipment, and batteries to "save the signal".
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huy Quang - Director of Viettel Hue City - informed: "Currently, Viettel's signal is still stable in 40 communes and wards across Hue City. All Viettel BTS stations are operating stably, with technical staff on duty 24/24 hours and fuel reserves to ensure infrastructure operations during the time the flood has not receded yet."
In Da Nang, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Vu Tra My - Director of Viettel Da Nang - said that in close coordination with the city's Military Command, many technical staff crossed the raging waters, directly fixed the problem, maintained the broadcasting station, and ensured communication for the isolated areas. Thanks to that, the Viettel network in Da Nang was still maintained during the flood.
In addition, to support people in staying connected during natural disasters, all Viettel transaction stores, post offices and supermarkets in Hue and Da Nang cities are open to provide free battery/phone charging points for people.
Viettel's network here also opens roaming (a service that allows users to use other carriers' mobile networks) so that customers of other carriers can use it to communicate when necessary.

The spirit of the flood recedes to fix the network
According to VNPT representatives, many places in Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Hue are still experiencing widespread power outages. The optical fiber cable on the Ho Chi Minh trail has been broken at many points in the Da Nang - Phuoc Son, Phuoc Son - Dak To and Hien - A Luoi sections.
VNPT said it has basically fixed most of the problems and is continuing to fix them. The network operator is also running generators at mobile stations to ensure the best communication network.
However, many areas are still deeply flooded and have landslides, so rescue work in some areas is still extremely difficult. VNPT is urgently and closely monitoring the flood situation, with the spirit of restoring the network as the flood recedes.
MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation also urgently activated the disaster prevention and information response plan, mobilizing human resources and means to ensure the safety of telecommunications infrastructure and maintain smooth communication for people in affected areas.
In Hue and Da Nang cities, teams of technicians, transaction officers and logistics staff remain on site, ready to coordinate rescue and restore services when weather conditions permit.
Along with infrastructure protection and information security, MobiFone also closely coordinates with authorities to proactively send warning messages and provide guidance on storm prevention, flash flood and flood response skills to people in high-risk areas, contributing to raising public awareness and minimizing risks and damage caused by natural disasters.
During the flood season, the work of updating, reporting the situation and directing response is carried out continuously, connecting smoothly between the corporation and local units via the online system to ensure the fastest response to any unusual situation.
Up to now, MobiFone staff at hotspots are still working day and night to maintain safe connections, ensuring stable communication to serve the government, rescue forces and people in flood-affected areas, effectively serving the management and command of functional agencies.
