On the afternoon of November 3, Mr. Nguyen Van Ky, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Son Commune, said that heavy rains that lasted from October 25 caused serious landslides on inter-village roads. The villages including Dam I, Dam II, Abaanh 2, Arieu, Ariing, Cha'lang, Dhung, H'juh, G'lao, Arooi, Atu 1, Atu 2, Cha'nóc... are still completely isolated.
In residential areas, the risk of landslides on negative slopes exists in the villages of Put, Arooi, Ki'noonh, Dâm I, Cha'lăng, Ating, Da'ding, Ga'nil, H'juh, and Voong. The locality has urgently evacuated 88 households with 366 people to safety.
“Some electric poles have fallen, causing unstable electricity; unstable mobile phone and internet signals, hindering information collection from the base.
The locality is mobilizing human resources to survey and count landslide-affected houses, check the risk areas, and urgently evacuate households in dangerous areas to ensure safety. At the same time, it is urging businesses to quickly fix the problem, ensure initial route clearance, and access to isolated areas," Mr. Ky informed.

Landslides affected Put Kindergarten, Abaanh 2, Ga'nil. In particular, the commune People's Committee headquarters suffered serious landslides: walls cracked, structure shifted. The Public Administration Service Center and some offices were flooded with rocks and soil, posing a high risk of insecurity. If heavy rains continue, the headquarters is at high risk of collapse.
“Up to now, the commune has not recorded any human losses. People have proactively stored food and provisions for a long time according to the “four on-site” principle. We recommend that the City People’s Committee soon announce an “emergency situation due to natural disasters in the commune”; provide financial support for equipment and vehicles for the village, and promptly repair damaged and landslide-prone roads. At the same time, we should soon rebuild the headquarters of the People’s Council and People’s Committee of Hung Son commune to ensure work safety and better serve the people and businesses,” Mr. Ky suggested.
