Bac Ninh: Emergency order issued for drainage construction project.

The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has issued an emergency order to construct a project to renovate, maintain, and dredge the drainage system in Bac Giang ward, aiming to minimize localized flooding during heavy rains.

The central square of Bac Giang was deeply flooded during heavy rains in 2024.

Given the situation where many streets in Bac Giang ward, Bac Ninh province, are flooded whenever there is heavy rain, seriously affecting the lives of the residents.

Previously, on May 29th, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, Pham Van Thinh, signed a Decision issuing an emergency order for the construction of a project including: renovation, maintenance, and dredging of the drainage system in Bac Giang ward, in order to carry out an urgent task to promptly prevent and combat flooding during the 2026 rainy and stormy season in Bac Giang ward.

The project has a total estimated investment of 8 billion VND and will be implemented from June to September 2026.

The scope of the project involves the renovation, maintenance, and dredging of the drainage system in Bac Giang ward, Bac Ninh province; prioritizing the areas around 3/2 Square, C8-Quang Minh Lake, residential area No. 2, Cong Ngoc-Bus Station residential area, along Hung Vuong road, the drainage lines leading to Chau Xuyen Pumping Station 1, Chau Xuyen Pumping Station 2, and other locations frequently experiencing flooding in Bac Giang ward.

The total length of the dredged sewer line is approximately 28,174.4m; the total volume of manhole dredging is approximately 1,415.3m³. The unit assigned to manage and carry out the construction project is the Center for Drainage and Wastewater Treatment.

The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province requests that the implementation of urgent projects be carried out ensuring progress, quality, and efficiency; preventing localized flooding during the rainy and stormy season. Strictly implement measures to practice thrift, combat waste and corruption; and improve the efficiency of managing and utilizing public investment capital.
